(If you are a recruited student-athlete or a High School Award winner seeking a fee waiver, this form is not to be completed. Instead, contact the Office of Admissions for instructions.)

The University of Rochester is committed to removing barriers for students whose economic circumstances prevent them from affording the cost associated with applying. If your family is unable to afford the application fee, please complete this Application Fee Waiver Request Form. This form is meant for domestic and international students, First Year and Transfers. By completing this form you are granted immediate approval by the Office of Admissions at the University of Rochester. Therefore, a supporting document by a 3rd party (counselor, for example) is unnecessary.

Applicants may submit an Application Fee Waiver Request if they meet one or more of the following criteria.

Please select all that apply:

You have received or are eligible to receive an ACT or SAT testing fee waiver

You are enrolled in or eligible to participate in the federal free or reduced price lunch program (FRPL)

Your annual family income falls within the Income eligibility guidelines set by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service

You are enrolled in a federal, state, or local program that aids students from low-income families (e.g., TRIO programs such as Upward Bound, Gear Up, Talent Search)

Your family receives public assistance

You live in a federally subsidized public housing, a foster home or are homeless

You are a ward of the state or an orphan

Due to COVID-19 there are recent financial limitations to you and your family at this time.
